Many  trees have colourful fruit in summer. The fruit usually remains on the tree until eaten by birds so can be used for several months to ID the tree. Use this Key to identify the tree from its summer fruit. The fruits are classed as ‘fleshy fruits’ with the seeds enclosed by an attractive outer covering. There are three types – berries, drupes and pomes.
