 In winter, once the leaves have fallen, you may be able to identify some trees by their shape. Use this option to check out the 12 trees in this guide that can be recognised in this way. Some trees, like Lombardy Poplars, have branches that cling to the main stem whilst others have branches that spread out and sub-divide many times to give a ‘twiggy’ appearance.
