WHITE/PINK FLOWERS

Many Broadleaf trees  have white/pink flowers. Use this Key to identify these trees. Usually the flowers are only present for a few weeks  and some flower in spring before the leaves. Approximate flowering times are shown in brackets. Look at the size and shape of the flower and also whether it is single or in long spikes or tails or compact clusters.  Click on any button below a photo to get more information. Click on any photo to enlarge it. Note that some Flowering Cherries have white or pink flowers and there is a cultivar of the Cherry Plum which flowers at the same time but has  pink flowers. Some common Magnolias have white or pink flowers but these flowers are ‘primitive’ and have tepals instead of petals. Click HERE for more information or HERE for details of the Magnolia flower
